Good thing I hadn't ordered anything yet. 
My Winegards are the 3101, with the universal mount. It has a clamp that has four carriage bolts through it, allowing it to open way up or close way down. But the sleeve has crossed my mind as a possibility still, so that the teeth on the mounting clamp down cut through the motor mount.
