MLB 2013 Season

What a huge blow up last night by the Reds in the 10th. Ugh!

The pinging Boston Red Sox just opened against the Devil Rays by going 7 for 7 with a walk. If that ain't the record for most successful at-bats to start a game, it's gotta be damn close.

So I'm thinking, I hope Lackey realizes that all he has to do is throw strikes, so first he throws a ball, and then he throws his first strike on the second pitch and it gets hit out of the park, and then, ten pitches later that inning, Longoria homers and now, it's 6-2. it ain't over 'till its over.

Puig got NL player of the week. Not too surprising. Let's hope he can keep it up and get player of the month, and eventually rookie of the year.

What's worse than an 18 inning game between the Jays and Rangers?

A 20 inning game between the Marlins and Mets.

I didn't mean it was worse for the fans. I meant it was worse for the player. They played two games in one.

You can say it was worse for the fans. I had the "pleasure" of watching that 20 inning marathon and it was tough to watch. I mean you'd think the Mets would have won but its just pathetic. The Mets are just pathetic. They did send Ike Davis down to Las Vegas..so there's that.

For as much as the Marlins suck...they OWN the Mets.

They are actually 8-3 against the Mets, but obviously have a losing record versus every other opponent....

Salsa's right. The Marlins own the Mets. Will not deny that.

Puig now has multihit games in 6 out of 8 played.

3 for 4 today, again.

Weird, sort of disappointing when we get disappointed when a hitter only gets 3 singles. Puig is slumping. He only has singles.

The Red Sox trail Baltimore by just one stolen base for the league lead. I think the last time the Red Sox contended for the league lead in stolen bases was back when Tris Speaker played for them.

In fact, they'd be tied for first if it wasn't for another of those dubious "defensive indifference" scorings. With the game tied and runners on first and third, two out, Nava took second base without drawing a throw from the catcher, and because Nava had advanced himself to second, he was able to score on Saltalamacchia's single. The Devil Rays were not indifferent to that baserunner. They scored two runs in the bottom of the inning and would have won the game had Nava not aggressively taken second.

Another black eye for baseball. Where was the earlier warnings to both teams?
I think the issue is too much outside policing and warnings.

For some reason the Diamond Backs really hate the Dodgers. I guess they forgot the Dodgers biggest rival in the Giants, not AZ. For some reason, the guy that is credited for the most memorable moment in Dodgers history, a Dodger legend from one AB and a league MVP for them, also cannot stand them anymore.

The last two HBP (Montero hit by Greinke and Greinke hit by Kennedy) were definitely intentional. But, it is one thing to retaliate by hitting the guy in the hips or ribs, but it another thing to hit them in the head.
