MLB 2013 Season

Hanrahan and Bailey are down, and Ortiz and Napoli, each of whom is averaging an RBI per game, could have season ending or career ending injuries tomorrow, as could Lackey, and Victorino's back is acting up. The Red Sox could be fielding a Triple A team in the near future.

Lackey has a no-hitter and a 3-0 lead through two innings. Maybe we can start a pool, guessing in what inning he will blow up and throw the game away.

O,K, Who picked the fourth inning?

Interesting it that the Red Sox owe Lackey almost exactly the same amount of money that the Dodgers owe Beckett (about $27 million owed to each)... and they are having similar years.

Actually Beckett hasn't pitched all that bad. They just don't score for him. One game he pitched 8 scoreless innings in a 0-0 tie, and then gave up one run in the ninth for the loss. A complete game 1 ER loss.

Lackey is terrible, but his ERA is more than a full run better than Beckett.

Beckett has had a very good career, but he should think about retiring, the last 2 years he's just out there making an ass out of himself.

Lackey's ERA is "helped" by the fact that it was his own error that let in four unearned runs in his previous start.

Kershaw is now the career leader in ERA after 1000 innings. 2.70

Man oh man...under-current flowing around the SoCal baseball world is that the Dodgers are holding out and hoping that the Angels fire Mike and they will swoop him up to manage the dodgers when Mattingly's contract is up. How wild is that one?????

Becketts ERA is a little misleading. He had two bad starts that really inflated his ERA. Most of his starts have been quality starts, including one complete game in which he lost giving up only 1 run.
