MLB 2012 Postseason

Obviously these Wild Card games are unprecedented, but I wonder how the respective winners will act after the games. IMO, it would be an embarrassment to the sport if there is a champagne celebration. As it is, it drives me nuts when teams do this following an LDS victory.

With the 21st century player, I'd say expect the bubbly & beer, buddy.

That's what I'm afraid of.

2-0 Braves

I think they celebrate because of the accomplishment of winning the round. I can see why they do it. After all, you win the LDS, you move on the LCS. How many teams to that each year? Only 2.

Pathetic call by the umps and pathetic display by the fans.

Game is now under protest. I wonder what will happen if the protest is upheld?

I havent watched too much of this game. I missed the play that caused the delay. No matter what, though, you dont throw anything on the field. Bill, remember when the Red Sox Nation did that in the 1999 ALCS?

One thing for certain. That call did cost the Braves at least one run.

What a God awful call!! Infield fly rule?!!! Are you freakin' kidding me??? Did the NFL replacement refs get into Turner Field???!!

And the Braves fans throwing stuff on the field?? Color me surprised, I thought they were too apathetic for that.

I was thinking the same thing, they usually have a hard time filling the stadium even in the playoffs

Funny. The fans chant infield fly when a deep fly ball was hit to the outfield. Now that is a more appropriate way to taunt the umps.

I don't believe you can fairly make that assumption. If the bases were loaded with one out as they should have been, the pitcher would have approached the next batter differently. Maybe another run would have scored, but maybe the batter hits into a double play.

Not to mention that the delay caused the Cards to bring in a different pitcher. It's just impossible to predict how things would have played out.

Why not start the games the same time they have them scheduled to start on Monday?

I like it when playoff games have an afternoon (1pm) or mid morning start (10am) and one early evening start (5pm).

Nothing better than afternoon baseball.

True.

Congrats to the Orioles for a gutsy performance against the Rangers.

Now that the arrogant Ian "Get the f%^k off of my field!" Kinsler and his band of merry Rangers are embarrassed pieces of yesterday's fish wrap, I can truly sit back and enjoy the playoffs for what they are. I was hoping Atlanta had beaten the Cards but that is a minor thing.

As I said before if Baltimore and Oakland make it to the ALCS that will be more entertaining than the World Series!
