MLB 2012 Postseason

That strike out by Timmy to end the threat was huge. Another run or two there and the Tigers gain momentum and are right back in it.

I also thought it was foul, but regardless Young should have been running. I hate to admit it, but McCarver was correct, if Young runs they have no chance at the double play.

Hardly, Young could have/should have ran , however, he doesn't hustle, ever, and would still have been an easy out at 1b.

Panda is doing a Reggie! 3 tonight and 6 HRs in this post season!

I don't think any of those pitches he hit were in the strike zone.

Perfect time for Valverde to get some action.

Trailing 6-1

edit:

Valvedrde leaving now trailing 8-1.

We may have seen the LAST of Jose Valverde in a Tiger uniform.

He looks completely lost out there. The Tigers might be best served avoiding pitching him the rest of the series.

Yep that's gotta be it. Well I think that's about all the punishment I can take for one night. It's only game 1. We'll be back at them tomorrow.

I dont think Valverde has a lot of takers based on his postseason. He is a free agent but I would stay as far away from him as possible.

I wonder if the outcome of game 1 would've been different if they were playing in Detroit instead of SF? Lets face it, the Giants fans have been electric on Monday night and tonight.

I think alot has to do with the time off for Detroit and the GREAT Pitching SF is getting tonight.

This game turned when Cabrera went to play the ball by the 3b line and it hit the bag and rolled into LF and the batter had a dsouble and scored on a base hit, then followed by another Sandaval HR.

No doubt, sure seems like it but I also think its about getting hot at the right moment. Sorry to bring this up to the Tiger fans on the board but look at the 2006 Cardinals. They won 83 games got into the playoffs beat the Mets in NY in game 7(ugh) then beat the Tigers in the World Series. Who gave them a chance?

Sometimes everything falls into place. Sure seems that way for the Giants. And btw, they have been hitting the cover off the ball. 9 runs in game7 and 8 runs in game 1. What are the odds of that happening in the postseason?

Tigers have to win 4 games with only 1 more start from their ace. Giants have to win 3 more games with 2 starts from their ace.

Tigers have a pretty good staff, I'm not worried.
Fister goes tonight ....

Giants are on quite a roll, didn't have 7 days off to wait, they went from one series to the next, that has to be an advantage for them.

Maybe the Tigers should hope to NOT draw the Yanks in the post season, each time they've been very quick series and ended up with a long delay in the series start.

I would hope that the Giants would win thier home games, if I was a Giants fan, I'd be worried if they hadn't.
