Well, it looks as though we're going to have clear skies for Games 1 and 2. While it's mid-70s in Detroit this afternoon, the highs are going to be in the upper-40s when they move to Comerica Park this weekend. Brrrrrrr!!! Go Tigers!
Everyone, his uncle and her brother is assuming that tonight is a shoe-in for the Tigers cause Verlander is on the mound. Well......remember how he blew it in the All-Star Game? Some big name pitchers can really get all amped-up and overdo it in big games. It is highly possible that we will see this tonight.

Verlander came out throwing 100mph fastballs because he was in for an inning and that's what the people wanted to see. He never pitches that way during a real game. He starts out throwing his slider, a breaking pitch and perhaps a curve, and then increases the velocity on his fastball mid-game when the opposition typically start to time a pitchers delivery. I doubt you will see him repeat that performance tonight...just look at the ALDS (Oakland) and the ALCS (New York) as proof. We shall see.
Remember also that was an All Star Game. I would think in JV's mind that a Game 1 of the World Series is more important than an All Star Game.
I only hope that the World Series measures up to the rest of this postseason...........and something tells me it will.
With no NHL, I'm definitely hope for 7 games!

Except this ump behind the plate apparently skipped a few classes because he doesn't know the strike zone.
