MLB 2012 Postseason

Although Verlander's numbers were very similar to his MVP/Cy Young year last year, I didn't think he was going to win another Cy simple because he got so much less run support this year. Well, if the voters haven't yet voted I say he wins it.

They say Post season doesn't count for the Cy/MVP

Voting ends before the postseason starts. To add to your point though Verlander now has more strikeouts in a division series round than any other pitcher.

The Tigers won this series without getting much from Prince, and especially Cabrera. That can't happen in the the ALCS. That being said, the team stepped up and we are back in the ALCS. It's hard to find much to complain about there.

Agreed, hopefully they'll get better offense from them and the others as well.

Whew....Tigers move on, would like to play the orioles, I have family I have family in the area and would be nice for some family fighting :)

At least next round won't be west coast, late nights are brutal

Yep, I'm still hoping to see ALCS games in Baltimore and Detroit AND World Series games in Washington and Detroit. Of course, both the Os and Nats need to win this evening. We shall see. Regardless, the Tigers play in New York or at home against Baltimore on Saturday.

My biggest dislike of the playoffs has been the goofy 2-3 road/home series in the ALDS for the team with home field advantage. Well, at leaset the format is going to change back to 2-2-1 next October from what I read, as it should be.
