Even mild-mannered gentle giant Giancarlo Stanton has tweeted he is "pissed off staight and simple!" over the deal. WOW!

Hmmm,

I think I remember the Tigers talking about wanting to pick up a Outfielder or two this off season. :)

Well...Stanton is not eligible for arbitration for another 2 years...so they won't trade him, YET....

I AM SOOOO upset right now. You guys have no idea.

I wonder how MLB feels about all that revenue sharing $$$ going straight into Loria's pocket and not back into the team.

I have never been so upset with one of my teams as I am today.

I wonder how the city feels about being duped by the owner.

This is the 2nd city this Guy has royally screwed over all while his pal Bud sits in silence and does nothing.

ALL the reactions will come out today. If you thought the city went nuts with the Ozzie-Fidel Castro thing....wait till you hear the reaction today...

people get mad at me when i've said in the past that the marlins should be sold right out of here. its the same story over and over again. the excuses are so many i don't even feel like listing them. either sell the team to someone who will actually do things right in miami or get it out of here all together. its an organization run by a bunch of liars and people who have one knee jerk reaction after another! this is why i try to get into the marlins and i can't. just can't! because when i did and we were actually good, well lets blow it up. oh we're good again? lets blow it up again.
with this owner its why pujols wanted a no trade clause. he's not stupid. its what we do around here. and don't expect any good players to come after this little fire sale that's been going on for a bit now but about to explode. F*Πit!

In Other MLB news ....

Looks like the Tigers are going after Tori Hunter for one of thier Outfield positions.

He's getting up there in age (37), but he's still been productive and a HUGE improvement in the outfield over Delmon Young.

Hunter was in Detroit yesterday, wants to get something done soon...

The commissioner should have stepped in and stopped that trade it is really lopsided for sure.

Am going to quote myself from the winter of 2002-2003, "Loria can kiss my ass".

That ******* *** ** * ***** should have been charged w/ racketeering back then. The all the ego-centric, control freak owners like Jones, Jacobs, Snider...it takes real talent to alienate 2 cities in 2 different countries within the same decade.

I feel your pain miami...been there.

Cheers, K

On the bright side, it looks like the Secuties Commision is investigating Loria. Am not familliar w/ the situation as I dont read anything Loria related but it might have something to do with the tax payers of Miami-Dade

Wont happen. There have been so many one-sided trades in favour of the big market teams in past years. By stopping one favouring a middle of the pack team it would create a nasty precedent for future trades. Besides, Miami is getting a quality SS, a decent SP and C, and 3 TOP 10 prospects.

Money wise, TO is on the hook for 166 million, but Miami *might* win this trade in 5-6 years from now if they keep those prospects.

Cheers,K

Well.....IF we had a real commissioner, that would have been a done deal. Think of the OTHER owners perspective. IF this deal goes through, there will be OTHER owners that will want a state/county funded stadium and those states and county commissioners/mayors will bring up "look what happened in Miami, how do we know you will not do the same?"

ALSO, not a single big name free agent will want to come here now......not one.

IF MLB FORCED Marge Schott to sell the Reds, WHY can't they force Loria to sell the Marlins.....??!!:mad::rant::mad:

EXACTLY! I don't think the stadiums should be funded by people anyway.
