MLB 2009 Season

I am at the Reds game today. Hope they can win and get out of this slump.

They just aren't trying. Gonzalez all game was just lazily going after balls and throwing them, nonchalantly getting to the bags and balls that were thrown to him. The crowd was booing him near the end.

I was at the entire 3-game series between the Cubs and the Marlins and that was alot of fun....especially Saturday tough loss, though watching this team come back from a 6-0 deficit to almost win the game was pretty fun to watch. Then there was yesterday's game....after giving up a 9th inning home run...winning it in the bottom of the 9th on back-to-back home runs on back-to-back pitches was THE most exciting game since the 2003 Playoffs.

...and yet, after the great series win and the Marlins winning 10 out of the last 13...what is the 1st thing they talk about in local sports....

....the f***ing Dolphins!:(

I love the Marlins and it's bad enough they get LITTLE respect from the National media....but they get just as little respect from the local media. There are times when I honestly think this city does not deserve a baseball team.:(:(

Dunno. And good point. The Indians trade a few players and suddenly everyone wants to "contract" them.

No! The Indians should NOT be in contraction discussion. The Indians has made playoff appearance and have very good attendance. I mean the Marlins have won 2 World Series in the very short time they have been in the Major Leagues.

I know what you were saying dude. And I was agreeing with you! I was rolling the eyes at the poster who wanted to contract them...

They should not be contracted, they have a long history and have played well in the recent past.

IMO, the part I highlighted is the biggest factor.

You don't contract teams like the Indians and Pirates that have long histories.

That's why I was pissed that a team like the Browns were allowed to move to Baltimore. You don't uproot these teams that have been part of the fabric of the community for generations!

MLB EI on Directv

Wasn't the MLB EI package like .... $ 169 for the year.

The half a season offer is out now .....

It's $ 139, now as far as I'm concerned, it's a rip off they want 3/4 of the money for less than half the season.

If they really wanted to make it worth while, they would offer it for $ 100, including HD

HD will be included anyway. You no longer have to pay extra for the HD add on to the package.

STILL WAY too much money for less than half the season.

fwiw, How is EI HD included, while the NFL is NOT.

We all would like the ST HD to be included, but they have a lot of SD fans out there still and don't want to have them pay extra, why is is OK for the other ?

I'm sure the ST one is due to many more subs and the agreement with the NFL, just doesn't seem right .....
