Going back to the Strasburg signing....I am in awe of the kinda money #1 picks in baseball get these days. Especially for a guy that will more than likely not make a Major League roster for more than likely 3 years....maybe even more.
The only league that get's it right when it comes to signing rookies is the NBA. In the NBA, there's a set entry scale for rookies. Prove that your worth it and you can sign for a higher contract. Makes perfect sense. The MLB and Football have a jacked up system. No where else on earth will you find less proven and less deserving employees earn more money than highly proven employees. (ex. Tom Brady earns less than Matthew Stafford).
