MLB 2009 Season

Of the list, I'd say Roy Halladay has the best shot. He's 32 and has 140 wins in his career so far.

Let's say he has 10 more for the year, which would put him at 150. He would then have to average 15 wins over the next 10 years, which is doable if he stays healthy.

He is one of the most brutal pitchers I have EVER seen. Damned near perfect.

Yeah. I find myself wondering what could have been if Roy didn't take so long to develop. The first 4 years of his career he bounced around from AAA to the bigs until he developed his mechanics. Since then, he's been THE most consistent pitcher in the Majors.

Plus, Roy's a mild mannered fella. Never do you hear him complain of the team he's on, despite him being on Blue Jay teams that aren't able to compete in the division. I respect the hell outta him.

With the high pitch counts and CGs over the years, I wonder if he can last 10 years....

No way. What kind of numbers does Santana (Mets) have?

Roy Halladay Everybody!!!

Congrats to the Royster for being the first pitcher to win 10 games this season! This outing against the Royals was his 2nd consecutive complete game and was a shutout.

The Royster is now 10-1 this season with a 2.52 ERA.

OK...no one can ever accuse ESPN of "East Coast Bias" anymore. Here it is Interleague Play and there's that big match-up in the new ballpark in the Bronx that I was certain would be tomorrow's Game of the Week. Instead, they go to CLEVELAND????

That does seem ODD with the Yankees on board.

You better watch it big boy! I may still be in the Dirty South, but I'm still listening! No one slights Cleveland and get's away with it!!!

BTW, a Cleveland vs. St. Louis matchup should be very intriguing in it's own right. Two teams from middle-America on a quaint Sunday evening featuring former Cy Younger Cliff Lee dueling with Albert Pujols. What more can a real baseball aficionado ask for?!!!

Hey you big lug!!! :p I am not slighting the Tribe at all! But, c'mon...it's not the usual ESPN type of choice given the other matchups. You haveta admit that.

BTW, I am going to love the game much more than if it were the dreaded Subway Series.

We all clear now, Seagull breath????? :D

I was there!!! Hunter hit 3, Morales hit 1, and Mathis even hit one. Vlad went 2 for 4 with a double. He's really running a lot faster this year. This is the Angels team we all expect to see. Joe Saunders was lights out. Scioscia got booed for pulling him in the 9th. The he got a standing ovation as he left the field. This was the first time this year I have seen the Angels be the Angels and it was amazing. I hope this is the start. Scioscia chewed them out thursday and sent Howie down. Seems to have had an impact. Hopefully it lasts. Hopefully this team lives up to its potential.
