MLB 2009 Season

Which one of the Rangers do you think is going to get taken out tonight?
Any odds on the Yankees kicking butt tonight too?:D
Maybe we will we have a riot tonight!:D

MLB won't even let the first sign of it occur without issuing a warning. (But I DID enjoy seeing Alvyn get plunked twice last night!!!!:D)

If you were a baseball player, what position would you want to play?

What baseball position do you think you'd be best at?

Personally, the only position I could play is DH- I can't field well (I used to play first base, but switched to DH because I dropped a lot of balls), but I can hit well.

When I used to play, I played first base and pitcher. My knickname was "high heat" because I was tall and I liked to throw wicked fastballs. I could also hit, so I'd probably want to play in the NL.

Can he send Elvis flying again. LOL :D
This is How To Play The Game

The opposing team's pitcher hits you in your first two at-bats of the game?
Last night, Mark Teixeira found the perfect response.

Being left handed limited me to the outfield, first base, and pitching. I couldn't pitch, I do not have a great arm, and I lack speed. I mostly played first as a youth and was a pretty slick fielder. Lacked power to progress beyond youth ball playing a power position

I played through high-school and was strictly a pitcher. I couldn't hit for sh** after 8th grade.

WOW!! That's a crappy way to treat a team-legend. I heard he was looking pretty good in his rehab starts, too.

:down:down to the Braves for this.

I wonder how that went down.

Braves: Tommy, thanks for your loyalty. Now I have something to tell you. (Donald Trump's Cobra hand). You're fired!

-----

The Braves should at least have recalled him from his rehab assignment, see how he did, and then can him if he stunk or keep him if he does well. He did so-so outside of Class-A Rome in his rehab appearances, so I wonder how he would have done at the MLB level.

Sammy Sosa to retire officially.

That's a damn shame. I just lost a lot of respect for the Braves. What's next, are they gonna cut Chipper Jones next year?

And on top of that, John Smoltz was very bitter at the way he was treated on the way out the door.

Last night, Randy Johnson's attempt to win his 300th game was rained out; today, his rescheduled start is also in a rain delay.

Two thoughts:

1. Is this a sign from the baseball gods?:D

2. What are your thoughts on the Big Unit's career overall?

I think this will be the last 300 game winner for a long time. I don't think anyone currently in MLB will do it.

That's for sure. Look at the active pitchers on this list and how far away from 300 wins they are....
