This team is bad...real bad. I feel for the fans (do any actually exist?) because this team will be lucky to win 45 games.

That's an excellent question.....who knows. Perez can't throw strikes and Lewis is getting clobbered. If the pen doesn't turn it around, this team has no chance of doing anything this year.

Did you see the 6-5 loss on Friday? What was Wedge doing? He brought Joe Smith into the game with runners on and 2 outs in the sixth. Smith struck out the only batter he faced to end the inning. You'd expect him to Start the 7th, right? No. Enter Vinnie Chulk who quickly threw the game away (on a horrible throw to 1st).

I see Chulk as more of a mop-up guy.....not someone you want pitching with a 1 run lead in the later innings.

I agree. He should've kept Smith in. Supposedly Raffy Betencourt and Perez were unavailable as they pitched the day before, but still, Vinny Chulk?! WTF?

As for yesterday, I thought Wedge should've left Pavano in for the 7th. He only threw 89 pitches, so he could've very well went another inning.

If we could only bridge the gap to Kerry Wood, he's looked lights-out in his few save opportunities. I hate to see that type of talent and big signing go to waste. Come on bullpen, get it together! The starting pitching's starting to come around though at least.

What happened: MLB asked every team to send three jerseys worn at the home opener to league offices, and the Nationals sent those worn by Dunn, Zimmerman and Elijah Dukes. A new batch was shipped to the District, and those jerseys were used Friday. Dukes' lettering was fine; the other two weren't.

"We checked the backs of the new jerseys when they came in," clubhouse manager Mike Wallace said. "We never thought we had to check the front, too."

The mistake was discovered in the fourth inning. Dunn and Zimmerman returned for the fifth with the correct uniforms.

I agree, especially since there was another uni incident earlier this season:

This is actually the 2nd time this season the Washington Nationals Made an error on jersey grammar. Last Monday, Wilfredo Ledezma was wearing a Nationals jersey with an upside down N. You would think there is some type of QC policy in the organization. I understand a few missing stripes, but you gotta make sure the Nation’s team has the correct spelling on their uniforms.

They have good pitching, but when it starts to fail, they don't have the fire power to make up for it.

The Pirates were lucky they faced a young inexperienced pitcher.

Well....He has done well lately and just not living to his potential....but do not under estimate that Pirate team.
