MLB 2009 Season

The Sox and Halos meet two weekends hence in Anaheim (Easter weekend).

I'm looking forward to the Friday night late game. There's nothing like staying up late on a weekend night....watching the Red Sox play on the West Coast!!! :)

Yup, get that damned "if you could only beat the Sox" B.S. done with early this year!!!!!:p

Another thing that interests me about this upcoming baseball season is which teams will stink.

Every year, 8 teams make the playoffs, but you never which teams will go from bad to good (Rays) or good to awful (Mariners)

Last year, I had a field day mocking the Washington Nationals, and they gave me great material (just ask Bill), like the Lions do with Wozniak.

Any idea who'll be this year's punching bags?

I am watching the Royals/Mariners game right now and refuse to count either team out of at least some contention this season.

Unfortunately, due to ownership gaffes, the REAL Bozo team this year will be the Padres. They will suck like a PowerVac in '09. But, their sale has just about gone thru and they are in great hands and will be BIG NL West contenders by '12.

On paper I think San Diego could be that team.

I also think that Toronto will take a big step backwards.

The Tigers if they don't find enough pitching. This could go either way. Contenders or last place.

Chipper Jones Awarded 3-Year Extension

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - The Atlanta Braves say they have agreed to terms with third baseman Chipper Jones on a three-year contract extension through 2012 with an option for 2013.

The agreement Tuesday virtually guarantees that the 36-year-old Jones will play his entire career in an Atlanta uniform.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A six-time All-Star, Jones was the National League's Most Valuable Player in 1999. His .310 lifetime batting average ranks second among switch hitters, trailing only Frankie Frisch's .316. He has 408 home runs, trailing only Mickey Mantle (536) and Eddie Murray (504) in homers by a switch hitter.

He is the only switch hitter with at least 300 homer and a .300 career batting average.

Uhhhh Sabres, you picked the Astros twice.

OUTSTANDING!!!! You will not be sorry with Kotchman! I'm sure he's cheap and his 1B defense is ballet-like. He has some pop to his bat, too! Good luck.

Kotch was one of my last picks.

I swooped him and Casey Blake in the late rounds.

On another note, you'll be pissed to learn I also gave in by drafting Tex. His upside was too good to pass up.

Here's my final roster if you're interested:
