MLB 2009 Season

He's not much of a risk. He either hits or he don't. Either way the Tigers are on the hook for his $14M in salary. The Tigers are looking to contend, and Leyland is managing without a contract for next year. We owe it to him to give him the best 25 players he can manage. We had other, younger, and healthier talent that need to get their at-bats in. Thames will fill in just fine at DH with his 1 HR in 13.5 AB's average.

Sheffield is too old and slow. He can't play the outfield anymore so the answer to your question is NO!

He is just like every other DH.
That is why they HAVE a DH.
If he is healthy, he'll hit, if not, he won't.

Seeing they don
t have a DH in the NL, I would say NO, don't do it, if your Cincy.

Cincy finally got rid of one DH in Adam Dunn, why would they be interested in signing another DH in Sheff?

(BTW, I know the NL doesn't play with DH's :)).

I never liked Adam Dunn either. He strikes out WAY too much, is a liability in the field and is SLOW. He can keep his 40 homers a year. I don't want a player like that on my team.

I will take Adam Dunn TEN TIMES OVER before I take Gary Sheffield ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. He ranks right up there with YOUR defensive coordinator and Dusty Baker on the top of my jerk-wads list.....

...maybe I shouldn't hold my opinion back so much next time...what do you think? LOL!

Well duh. Of course I would take Adam Dunn over Sheff too. But that ain't saying much. I'd take pretty much anyone over Sheff for that matter.

Pirates Lose to Minor League Team!

The Pirates have played Manatee CC (which is near the team’s training facility in Bradenton) every year for the past 10 seasons, and won each time, until now. This season was the first year the game was played towards the end of spring training, as opposed to the beginning.

Today's final from Bradenton, Florida: Pittsburgh Pirates 4, Manatee Community College Lancers... 6. It's gonna be a good year, Bucco fans! :D

GOODNESS GRACIOUS THAT’S EMBARRASSING!!

In anticipation of the opening of New Yankee Stadium, here's a bunch of new pictures to unveil the new digs........

Sliding Into Home: A Yankees Blog: Workout Day Post Number 2 (UPDATED)

Note to Yankee fans, stay away from section 239. The other obstructed bleacher section is Section 201.....

Take a look at these pics. Apparently there's a few sections of obstructed bleacher seats at the new Yankee Stadium. Plus it doesn't even look like the TV's will help since they're up so high.

Great American Ballpark Gets Updated Scoreboard

Reds fans can look forward to a 138 by 39 foot high, high definition main scoreboard, plus two other displays behind left field.

In addition, the stadium's 64 luxury suites feature 46-inch BRAVIA HDTVs and Vaio PCs running StadiumView software, which lets fans choose which HD feed to watch via touchscreen.
