Marvel Televisions Agatha All Along - Disney+

I’m entertained so far, but the 9pm ET release on Wednesday is annoying. Everyone else is releasing New Episodes at midnight UTC (or similar) so when they say “New Episodes on Wednesday” you can wake up and watch the next installment. Not the Mouse. So, for me, it’s more like Thursdays to watch.

I thought after the first 2 episodes it would be a better binge than a weekly. After the last 2 I'm enjoying it much more.

That being said, it's like a fear factor challenge of the week followed by 10 minutes of actual plot progression, kinda hope they break from that template soon.

Surprised at the character Aubrey Plaza is actually playing, will be interested in seeing how that is portrayed moving forward.

I like this show. She is a fun witch and I am looking foward to the ending. All the other women witches are quirky and I like them. The boy is from a Netflix series I watched. I am betting he will turn out to be her son grown up.

Wiccan maybe.

Think this is the expectation, also a lot of signs pointing to Aubrey Plaza playing:

This has really big implications, potentially for the MCU, her role in future projects, etc. Or they'll be dumb and make this not mean anything :(

Actually think we saw one of her classic comic book forms as an easter egg in the hallucination episode. Wouldn't be surprised if we see another version of it (a flashback to the same illusion but more clearly making it look like Aubrey) once we get a full reveal in a couple episodes. Random google result of what I'm referring to:

I must say, I have been entertained by this show. I didn’t read any of the source comic books (I exited that phase of my life in the mid-1980s) so a lot of this is from watching the Marvel movies and TV shows. I think it’s better than Wandavision but I will probably go back and give that series another watch.

The last 10-15 minutes of episodes each episode are pretty good, until this last one. It did what almost all the Marvel shows do - bring everything to a screeching halt for a lore dump.

I suspect once the whole show is out, you could almost skip it, regardless of how much context it has added for events going forward, and forgive any gaps it creates just for the pace you save during a binge.

“Agatha all Along” concludes with the 8th and 9th episodes released Wednesday night. Overall, I’m satisfied with the ending.

If the rest of the episodes are as good as tonight's, we're in for a treat.

I'd say they weren't, but they were better than what came before. Part of that is just because of how well the told a 'time is a flat circle' type story. On it's own even, it was pretty great and well put together.

I'd also say, that now that the mysteries are all dispelled, it might even be more enjoyable to watch a second time around.

The ending felt a little uneven, which I'll spoil, but I'm not going to get spoilery and explicitly talk about what the ending is or was, but rather talk about the flow and don't want to spoil that for anyone.

Was disappointed that the show kinda ended with the episode before the finale, leaving the finale more for another lore dump to add another bit of context and tying up of the balance of the loose ends. It's no wonder this was released as a 2-part finale on the single night, because this would have not gone over well IMO if this would have been a week apart. That being said, was pretty happy with it overall. I like the end state for the remaining characters and hope to see them again at some point

Ultimately this ended up being an above average MCU show. If you like any of the actors involved (especially Kathryn Hahn), it's a worthwhile watch IMO. We'll see if/when we see some of these characters again. I suspect efforts like Young Avengers may fall victim to the reduced tempo of Marvel projects - hard to do a Young Avengers without recasting them all when it'll have been several years since you started introducing some of them. Though, Marvel would benefit from more routinely recasting when it made sense, too.
