I have a high-end CM outside antenna with rotor & amplifier and receive my HD OTA for my 622 & 722. I get great signal strength on all the networks and PBS stations but for whatever reason ABC breaks up/loses signal ONLY when its a windy day. This ONLY happens on this station and it usually has the best signal strength of all. I never have this problem with any of the others. I've even tried moving the antenna to lower the strength & unplugging the amp thinking maybe the signal was too strong and "rebounding"(?) without any success. Since it's gonna be windy for the next few days I can pretty much count on no ABC HD for awhile.
Any suggestions, tips or info would be appreciated. Thanks!

What you're describing is classic "wind in the trees" symptom. The branches move in the wind and the leaves attenuate the signal. I have trees very close to my antenna and can't get above them. On windy days I see signal variances on one particular channel... pretty sure it's channel 2. Regardless... I see this MORE when it's RAINY and windy. Like as if having water on the leaves makes them deflect even MORE signal.

When the leaves dry out in the fall it becomes less noticeable. In winter, it doesn't happen at all no matter HOW windy it gets (no leaves on the trees). Spring time seems to be the worst.

Now I'm not sure, of course, if this is your problem, but it sure sounds like it.

Well, it certainly is wind in the trees 'cause my antenna IS very close to tall old oak trees. Nuttin' I can do about that, LOL. My symptoms are different than yours though because rain or no rain makes no difference. I DO see a improvement when the leaves thin out but the problem continues throughout the winter whenever it gets windy. I'm pretty sure your diagnosis is correct but what's strange is that it only occurs with the one station. I'm GUESSING that's BECAUSE it's the station that has the highest signal strength, usually pushing 100. Very irritating. Thanks a bunch for your reply, appreciate it!
