Launch Predictions 10/10

I'd like to see Fox Financial HD come to Dish at its launch but that is doubtful. I'd also like to see the multichannels of Starz like DirecTV has. I don't care much for CNN, as I don't watch it now and probably wouldn't in HD.

I wonder if we could convince Scott to start a forum where people could go to talk about Direct TV. It just seems wrong that certain people have no place to go when they step out from under their bridges.

You mean like The DirecTV Forum? Now that would be just plain silly. :D ;)

In all fairness the OP did mention D* in his question so the post really can't be considered a troll.

Woohoo! More upconverted channels on D* tomorrow!

Yeah!

;)
Well I've seen HD on every channel, including SciFi. It's up to the provider to do more programming. All the new HD movie channels are great. And yes you can expect more tomorrow from Directv, more than likely including FX, MGM, and a lot more NON UPCONVERTING channels.

I 99.9995% guarantee that DirecTV will launch the following HD channels tomorrow:

CNBC HD+ 355
MGM 255
National Geographic 276

I predict more pointless crap being added or uplinked, with no hope of more premium movie channels in HD.

You already have 9, er, now 8 I guess, new premium movie channels in HD. In fact they're so premium it's five bucks a movie :p

It would be so nice to get more premiums--you can expect almost 100% hd from those channels. Lets just hope for no upset tomorrow. Come on dish!!!

They'll get there but not soon I would suspect.

The percentage of mpeg4 HD subscribers who also have premium movie packages is a lot lower than mpeg4 HD subscribers who can receive say USA.

Putting a channel up that 85% of the mpeg 4 crowd can see makes more business sense than using the bandwidth for a channel 15% can see. Even if the channel in question barely runs HD. It's a matter of public acceptance.

Would I need 2 dishes?
