JVC SR1000 Sirius Receiver

For the last few weeks my radio will come on when the car is started, but after a couple minutes it goes to the aquiring satellite screen. I cut the unit off for a couple of minutes and it comes back on.

Does anyone think the unit is going bad? It is 3.5 years old. Anyone have any suggestions on how to diagnois the unit?

Possibly a short/electrical interference in the antenna wire? Is is pinched in a door or window, or routed near other electrical components?
