Iverson rumored trade to the Pistons!

We still play the West during the regular season, don't we? WhoTF is Gary Cooper, anyhow? And why should I worry about the East? Come playoff time we will be playing for the Eastern Conference championship like ALWAYS. If we get past that, the West will be a piece of cake. (We own them).

Sorry about the Gary Cooper reference. I thought being the "old coot on the block" you would've picked up on that reference. (BTW, Cooper was an actor from many old time Western flicks, most notably, "High Noon"). ;)

My point was, you have to get past the East in order to get to those West teams that you keep claiming you can just breeze through.

Another analogy for you 'ol timer: "Don't put the cart before the horse".

Matt, I'm still trying to get my brain around the fact that we only play each other 4 times this season. What moron decided that divisional foes should only play each other 4 times? Must be the same guy who makes the schedules for MLB and the NHL (too many games against your own division), as some kind of twisted joke.

I dunno. Honestly, I didn't realize this either until you asked me how many times we played each other, then I did some research. Seems very illogical to me. But more to that point, divisions don't mean much in the NBA anyways as half of the league makes the playoffs every year regardless.

Sabres, are you challenging me to a dual?!

No. I just noticed your 'Old West' talk, and it reminded me of that thread.

Besides, we're already going verbally head-to-head tonight, and may do so again if Texas Tech and Ohio State meet in a BCS game.

I know. And I was continuing my silly Western talk by challenging you to a dual. Never mind me. I'm giddy about my upcoming Browns game.

That's another thing I don't like about the NBA - half the teams go to the playoffs. I know it's about the money, but it really dilutes the importance of the regular season. Baseball and football (well, the NFL anyhow) are the only ones that understand this. Play 82 games to figure out which half of the league gets to watch the playoffs on TV. The NHL used to be even more ridiculous, when they only had 21 teams, and 16 made the playoffs, 5 stayed home. What a joke that was.

This is my #1 pet peeve with the NBA.

Pistons to fine Iverson after guard misses practice Thursday...

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3730471"]Detroit Pistons guard Allen Iverson faces fine after missing practice Thursday - ESPN[/ame]

Just the facts...although it is still early, things are pretty much shaping up as expected.

Denver
1-3 (with Iverson)
9-3 (with Billups)

Detroit
4-0 (with Billups)
5-5 (with Iverson)

The Pistons have a BETTER shot of making the NBA FINALS than the Denver Nuggets have of MAKING THE PLAYOFFS....

...THOSE are "just the facts".;)

Actually, those are your opinions, which you're certainly entitled to. But they're not facts.

The facts are in the standings. Like Bill Parcells said, you are your record.

Personally I don't think you can start analyzing this trade until around he all-star break, but hearing someone disregard he records and say his opinions are the facts sounds funny.

It is interesting how you're so hopeful that the Nuggets won't do well with Billups at the point.
