Sandra,
I know this is off-topic, but how was your Turkey Day?
Thanksgiving was great, despite the terrible football games. Hope yours (and everyone's) was great as well.
Sandra
Sandra,
I know this is off-topic, but how was your Turkey Day?
The Pistons have a BETTER shot of making the NBA FINALS than the Denver Nuggets have of MAKING THE PLAYOFFS....
...THOSE are "just the facts".
It is interesting how you're so hopeful that the Nuggets won't do well with Billups at the point.
Sandra
They are FACTS....you are SO MUCH into "history repeating itself".....compare "history" between the two and then come back to me.
AND you MUST read tarot cards for a living because you THINK you have read my mind and THINK I hope that the Nuggets make or don't make the playoffs. Truth be told I could care less about the Nuggets and being a LONG TIME Pistons hater...that needs no explination, but FACTS ARE....the Pistons are a threat to not only reach the NBA finals, but win the whole damn thing. Denver is not.....
Not a fair comparison. Even before the trade, that same statement could be made. IMO, this trade won't make a dramatic difference for either team.
ESPN Sports
The Detroit Pistons are starting to look like the Detroit Lions -- they're always a wreck on Sunday.
For the fourth Sunday in a row, the Pistons played like their hapless NFL counterparts, losing 96-85 to the Portland Trail Blazers.
I still feel the Piston's got the short end of the stick on the Iverson-Billups trade.
To be fair, losing to Portland isn't a big deal.
No...but see, because of the fact that NO ONE like Iverson and because EVERYONE likes Billups, they expect perfection.
Not perfection, just the improvement you've been touting ever since the trade. As you said, they brought in a league MVP to replace Billups, who should be able to improve on the 15-5 playoff series record the Pistons were able to manage with Billups at the point.
Still too early to evaluate fairly, but early indications are not so good.
Don't worry, they cleared a lot of cap space with this deal...
Sandra
Well....Chauncey AS A PG, I agree...he is better than IA. As a ALL AROUND PLAYER, sorry, but Chauncey does not measure up. He was looking for 2 things, quick points and salary caps space....and he got both from the ONLY player that plays a position in heavy demand, PG, and the player with the most trade value.
Wallace will not be back next year.
That is my origin quote and I have not differed from it. I have never touted improvement....YOU on the other hand expect more because of your dislike of Iverson("Allen Iverson does not make his teammates, or his team, any better than Chauncey Billups does. Probably worse, actually.") and your love for Billups("I suppose I'm just not understanding the lack of love for Chauncey Billups, who was always one of my favorite players").
I stand by those statements. I do not see the Pistons improving on the playoff record they had with Billups at point guard. Even if Iverson is able to make it to the rest of the practices.
Sandra
With Iverson or with Billups, the Pistons will still get ousted by the better teams in the Eastern Conference when it all come down to it. Ie: Cavaliers or Celtics (whichever they have the privilege of facing first.)
AHHH...there's that Homer again. I KNEW it could not stay dormant too long! LOL!!
Then you admit that YOU touted the improvement issue, not I.
This trade is getting so much attention on this site, it's ridiculous.
It's the SatelliteGuys equivalent of when Eric Dickerson or Herschel Walker got traded.
Huh?
Sandra
I know Sabres! Craziness! Over 1,500 vies so far between the two threads!
