Freakin' DirecTV! They turned off the HD channels I was getting because there's no SD simulcast!

For all those who've been paying $9.99 for HD since forever with this outfit, we need to start a class action lawsuit against DirecTV and their HD broadcasts.

Right now, I have the HD plus DVR package.

I'M ALREADY PAYING FOR HD! How dare they now take away what they want.

Here's the kicker. They told me my agreement with them allows them to change my programming like that, without notice. Okay...so what's stopping them from doing it whenever they want now? They told me I could have 3 months free.

I told them they could stick their 3 free months right up the old whazoo.

DirecTV has made it clear when you sign up and agree to do so that they may change pricing anytime. Most cases with a minimum of 30 days notice. They (DirecTV) gave 90 days notice. In addition to that they are giving 90 more days of free HD extra, so in reality your getting 6 months notice.

When you agreed to sign up they put it in the contract, they don't have to tell you in advance, they still gave 3 months free of the HD extra, and if you called CSR, they will give an additional 3 months for free as you said the CSR told you.

Actually 6 months notice 3 without requesting it, and three more if you call CSR.

I don't even subscribe to D* and knew that the HD packages were being split into tiers.

You need to come here more often to keep up on things. This is a much better source of info that D*.

I'm a brand new DirecTV subscriber (not even installed yet) and I signed up for the HD+DVR tier. Could someone clarify exactly what channels we're talking about here and what an SD simulcast has to do with it? I wasn't able to put it together by reading the thread.
