3ghz is not an overkill, when dishnetwork transfers over to mpeg 4, u'll know why. on new install dptwin+dp34=free, dpquad=free? which one would you prefer? would you rather go with dpquad and pay for switch later down the road? (u will end paying for 2 more switch) in the field dpquads are not reliable as dptwin!

MPEG-4 has less than nothing to do with the downconverted 12GHz signal coming from the sky. NOTHING to do with it! Period. End of story. Please read up on how signals get from the sky to the receiver before steering any other people wrong. Thank you.
The Twin vs. Quad discussion has already been done, but here we go again. Reliability of 2 separate boxes with the additional failure points more than makes up any perception you might have over Quads not being as reliable. Where's that data come from anyway? AFAIK, the biggest LNBF problem E* ever had were the CS9601 Twins.
As for the cost "down the road", E* regularly has deals that offer the necessary switches for free when you add receivers or programming that require it.
