I started to watch last night's Yellowstone on Paramount NETWORK (not P+) and got the option for AutoHop. Well, thinking must be a mistake, I chose it, and sure enough, It hopped through all the commercials. I don't believe this has ever happened before on a cable channel, at least not that i'm aware of.

Nice

But CBS is delayed one week.
BUT the skip (codes) were NOT on CBS last night, they were on the cable channels. ;)

I suspect auto-hop works similarly the way Tivo commercial skip does - the skip codes apply to each specific show, & NOT the network(s) they appear on. So because there is NO such restrictions on the cable networks, that's the reason auto-hop appeared as the OP noted.
It's also the same reason (at least on Tivo) when you DVR a network show, that's being re-run on a cable channel even year's later (reruns of Shark Tank on CNBC come to mind) the skip codes STILL appear after the recording completes.

Since my understanding is that this "return episode premier" is the ONLY one that will be on CBS, there will be NO more auto-hop on future (Paramount) showings...
