Anything they can do to make it less breakable is good by me. I'm getting tired of replacing broken iPhone screens for relatives' kids who think it's too "cool" to hide inside an otterbox.

If Apple could find a way to make a diamond encrusted screen they would probably go for it... But, it really would be nice to have a screen that does not scratch, but then again there is the soft aluminum body....

$3 for mass produced gorilla glass 3 screen, $20-30 as of early 2013 for non mass produced sapphire crystal screens with an estimate that mass production will bring screen costs down to $9-12. Even a $17 difference isn't a game changer in terms of price. As an added bonus, SC screens can be significantly thinner than the current generation of screens. Could be a nice add to the 6 if it comes to pass.

As a double bonus, the screens will be made in the USA.
