One of the local Philadelphia stations has been carrying ION on one of their sub-channels and yesterday, for the first time, I noticed it had gone to wide screen HD (720). Watched Ace Ventura last night and Batman is on now. Nice surprise. Now if only the local PBS could get their act together and fill the screen. It looks like their transmitting a 720 picture on 1080 bandwidth. The signal fills the screen but the image is less than 1080 so there's a black 2" outline all around the edge of the screen. A year and a half and they still can't get it right. Jeez!
