If no Duo Node... who's gonna wait?


All we ordered was one. I'm the only one that's installing 2 Hoppers. The couple other people we're installing are only getting 1 Hopper.

We only ordered 4 Hoppers and 8 Joeys. One of each went in our showroom. I'm not going to carry a ton of product if I can order and receive it in one day.
 
Do you think this alleged Duo shortage would be a problem when ordering directly from Dish, or just when ordering from retailers?
 
My supplier just called me to let me know that I could pick up as many DUO nodes as needed Immediatly. He didn't have an explanation as to why they were initially on back order but they have them now and all is good.

DISH when they started, was all about the customer and great customer service. I was there 15 years ago and their entire focus was pleasing the sub any way they could. Like in 2000 when they offered FEE free Pvrs and there was only a small handful of extra fees. I used to get replacement receivers sent to me for FREE or just $1.99 a month for the extra insurance protection. Back when they offered No DVR fees on their 501/508/721 pvrs, they added more subs than EVER before, or ever since. It was a younger, smaller company ,but was growing every quarter. Now with all the extra made up, charge it because we can, fees like the additional receiver fees $7.00- $17.00 ,depending on class of receiver, it has become all about the revenues and profits they can make on an ever decreasing amount of subs. Oh I'm sorry they did add a whole 22,000 last quarter. The first time in 8 quarters they did that and I'm betting that the only reason why they did that was by offering the Welcome pack again ,after discontinuing it a few months ago. Better to let the customers sub to the $14.99 pack and keep them as a sub,then letting them just churn entirely.

It's called Tough love . DISH needs to hear the negative as well as the positive in order to change back to the company they once were. A company that put the customer and the customer service above the need to put profits before everything else. DISH has been operating like a big company that is insensitive to its subs. What else do you call a $17.00 additional receiver fee when it was only $7.00 two years ago? I'll be say positive things when I see positive changes at DISH.

And Dish is going to somehow hear it by you constantly complaining on a website??? :rolleyes:

nice to hear. Sounds like most won't have a problem.
 
I will wait until the two hoppers can talk to each other.

Currently if you record one thing on one hopper only the Joey assigned to that hopper can watch it. You would need to go to an other room where that Joey is assigned to watch the recording.

I hear they will add the feature. Any update on a date?
