I know he isn't a pitcher, but Julio Franco(?) is still hitting, and he's what , like 60 years old.
What's all the fuss over Clemons? This is America, the home of capitalism! I'll say it again, nobody held a gun to Steinbrenner's head. If he didn't like the terms of the contract, he didn't have to sign it.
Ok....my issue is....you have Roger Clemens...who ALSO is an ass...maybe not to the degree of Bonds...but an ass none the less. And to me, ALSO has to be suspected of 'roids simply because power pitcher do NOT throw into their mid 40s in the majors...he is the only one to EVER do this(a power pitcher)....AND he does this mid-season Bullsh!t where he gets all these perks...Hell, people gave Allen Iverson ALL KINDS OF sh*t about his "it's just practice" thing...and here you have someone NOT ONLY missing spring training(...in other, 'practice'), he will NOT travel with the team(can stay home if he does not have to pitch), he will NOT take the same plane and he WILL make almost more than likely make more money than 90% of the EVERYDAY players in the majors.....yet, no one says a thing......

Not so much about the contract...hell, more power to him. But would YOU dislike Barry MORE if HE pulled a contract like this?

First off, how would Bonds pull off a contract like that? He's paid to hit EVERYDAY! Even if he could get a contract like that, more power to him. Capitalism is the American way. Either way - an a$$hole is an a$$hole... No matter how he's paid.
If Barry Bonds were white he would be hated even more than he is now. Barry Bonds is hated by white people because of his actions and the acts he is accused of. Blacks do not hate him as much because many of them will support any black person if it upsets white people because they carry alot of hatred and bigotry towards white people. Blacks supported OJ, not because they thought he was innocent, but because they feel it is alright to murder innocent white people. Barry Bonds still gets a pass somewhat because he is black, when he is ridiculed for something, he can always pull the race card and cry racism like a little girl. If he were white, he would be up sh*t creek like Pete Rose.

And HOW has Barry Bonds gotten off easy?? Please explain that one....I mean I DO believe he has used a performance enhancing drug...but IS there a drug test to prove this? Has he EVER been suspended?? Of the 5 MAIN names in this whole steroids scandal....McGuirre, Sosa, Palmiero, Giambi and Bonds...the ONLY ones with NO POSITIVE drug test OR that has NOT admitted to it is Sosa or Bonds.
Now, do I believe Sosa used them also...? HELL yeah, I know him from my days in Chicago and I saw a relatively thin to thinly muscular man turn into a monster in a very short time.
Look, every ones has suspicion of those that have not been busted or have not admitted to it.....but don't we live in a country where SUSPOSSEDLY innocent till prove guilty....?? There ARE those rare occasion(OJ, to name one in particular)

Mark Mcgwire got only 23% of the vote on his first hall of fame balloting. Nobody in the media had a problem with that. But if Barry Bonds gets only 23% of the vote on his first ballot, you will see the usual communist scum come out cry racism over it. ESPN will then start getting sympathetic towards those commies, and anyone who disagrees with those commies will be branded a racist. Bonds will probably get more votes because he is black, but Mcgwire will get nothing because everyone has been trained in America to hate white males.

I hate Bonds and Giambi. Both admitted dopers, both still allowed to play and disgrace the game. Baseball is corrupt to the core. The commish on down. There are 2 differences...ONE: The record McGuire broke, 61 homers in a season, was NEVER considered "unbreakable". Bonds will be breaking the record that has ALWAYS considered the most "unbreakable" of ALL SPORTS RECORDS....most career homers. MUCH bigger feat than McGuirres. And TWO: McGuirre is a SELF admitted user of performance enhancing drugs....now mind you, I DO think Bonds is dirty....but there is NO KNOWN proof of him taking the drugs and there is NO positive test anywhere. And finally, he has never admitted to doing it.....
THAT is why McGuirre got only 23% of the vote...and that is why you have a better chance of seeing an FBI informant hiding in the witness protection program than McGuirre out in public.

Juiced or not juiced, Bonds is the greatest player ever. Pitchers are afraid to pitch to him. He has the best eye in all of baseball. Notice how all the players busted with steroids sucked? The media/fans make it sound that as soon as you roid up, you will be able to hit 50 homeruns a season. He easily deserves to be in the HOF.
