IF Barry Bonds were white, would be hated as much??

SOUTH AMERICA??!! Are you NUTZ...??!! He was from MY HOME TOWN of Carolina, Puerto Rico!!! SOUTH AMERICA......come one now....

Where you ever a Pirates fan? I knew a lot of people from Puerto Rico when I was in the Air Force, and they loved the Pirates because Clemente played for them.

YES!!! :up Well this post has fell on deaf ears. Oh yea what about Jason Giambi do we still like this cheater? Is MLB going after him?

throw all the bums out of baseball for life...I could give a crap about their skin color, a cheater is a cheater and should be treated as such. Baseball should nut up and get this thing put to bed with banishments. If Rose is still out Bonds, Giambi, and the rest should be too.

I hate Bonds and Giambi. Both admitted dopers, both still allowed to play and disgrace the game. Baseball is corrupt to the core. The commish on down. Juice up all you want and we will turn a blind eye until Congress drags us to Washington and threatens us??? Yet we ban Rose who was clean when he played for betting on his own team to win.

Well...that is what happens when baseball hires AN OWNER to run the game. Would this had happened IF Bowie Kuhn or A. Bartlet Giamatti was still commissioner...? NOPE! The current corpse that runs MLB will NEVER...and I repeat NEVER do ANYTHING that will be in "in the best interest of baseball"...but only in the best interest of the owners. So get use to it boyz....he WILL be in it for a LONG time. He is the PERFECT PUPPET!

Great post! :up

My personal (and extreme) dislike for Bonds would be 100% the same if he were white, yellow, purple, a little green man from Mars, a woman, or a gelding. Actually he might be a lot closer to that last one, as 'roids tend to affect one's package so I hear.

I don't care if the athletes are black, white, yellow, brown or purple, I believe if they get caught one time....they should get a lifetime ban. This would stop drug use instantly.

Look at guys like Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle; these were just regular guys that loved to play and did not need drugs to be great at it. They embraced their fans and fans everywhere loved them.
Bonds, Canseco, and Giambi are overpayed drugged up jerks. I respect current players like Ken Griffey Jr and Chipper Jones (they took smaller salaries with their current teams and don't touch the juice)

I used to be a HUGE baseball fan, I quit watching about 3 years ago. I am sick of the greed and drug use. When baseball implements a salary cap and really tough drug rules, I'll start watching again.

He should be indicted for fraud IMO. He knew about it, he kept his mouth shut while collecting profits for every ticket sold knowing that players were "juiced up fakes". He sold the product to fans falsely under the pretense that the game was clean and fair and the records being set honest records.

Owners would NEVER do it because then they would REALLY pay fines....and the Players Union will NEVER let immediate suspension to happen. This goes WAY back when good ole George Steinbrenner decided to pay WAY TOO MUCH for Jim "Catfish" Hunter! While EVERY DAY PLAYERS were averaging about $85,000 a year...this guy was getting paid about $250,000 a year or more.....

THAT, plus the HUGE TV deals started the downfall of the game I love so much.....

Ok....my issue is....you have Roger Clemens...who ALSO is an ass...maybe not to the degree of Bonds...but an ass none the less. And to me, ALSO has to be suspected of 'roids simply because power pitcher do NOT throw into their mid 40s in the majors...he is the only one to EVER do this(a power pitcher)....AND he does this mid-season Bullsh!t where he gets all these perks...Hell, people gave Allen Iverson ALL KINDS OF sh*t about his "it's just practice" thing...and here you have someone NOT ONLY missing spring training(...in other, 'practice'), he will NOT travel with the team(can stay home if he does not have to pitch), he will NOT take the same plane and he WILL make almost more than likely make more money than 90% of the EVERYDAY players in the majors.....yet, no one says a thing......

I guess you never heard of Nolan Ryan?
He was still throwing 100 mph in his mid 40's, but he was a freak of nature, his body never changed much. He didn't get bigger with age like the guys these days, no way was he on roids, he was just awesome.

I agree 100%, Roger Clemens is a douche, a greedy sellout, and is probably juiced up. I respected him before he left the Yankees and joined the Astros.

He was "caught redhanded" with a legal substance. Have you ever taken Ibuprofen? Basically the same thing. Ibuprofen is a steroid. It reduces inflammation. That is what androstenedione does.

Sosa never convinced Mac of anything. Sosa was more than happy to give an interview to anyone who wanted one. Mac never was comfortable giving interviews and just wanted to be left alone to do his job. Sosa was the darling of all the sportswriters because he gave them all the quotes they wanted, and they were continually upset with Mac because he wouldn't talk to them. Sosa also played up his underdog role during, with the bulk of the pressure going to Mac, who was expected to hit a home run every time he came to bat. Once again, going by my own criteria as to what makes a hero, McGwire set up a foundation in which he was the only one allowed to contribute. Since McGwire set up a foundation, and got good press on it, Sosa also set up a foundation. McGwire contributed $100,000 to Sosa's foundation, which was $100,000 more than Sosa contributed to his own foundation.

McGwire was treated well by the the fans during that home run race, but he has never been treated well by the sportswriters. And this past year they really had their chance to get back at him in the Hall of Fame voting.
Who are you trying to fool? Ibuprofen is NOT a steroid. Andro was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, it is NOT just an anti-inflammatory. Just as I said, McGwire was an a$$hole to the media, and it's well-documented that Sosa played a major role in getting him to loosen up. Of course they all "hate" McGwire now, but they were all fawning all over him during his heyday.

I totally agree with you. Selig is a documented liar concerning the steroid situation in baseball. My thing is, if he's going to turn a blind eye to it for 12-15 years, then why the hell go after one guy now? Just suck it up and move on. He blew his chance in the early 90's.

I stand corrected....but Nolan Ryan did not have this bidding war for his services. And you are right, he is MORE of a freak than Clemens....a good ole fashion farm boy that was as strong as an ox.

I heard a story on talk radio the other day that I ABSOLUTELY needed confirmation....and was confirmed to me by a buddy of mine that PLAYED with Clemens at Texas. He was pitching against some university, struggling in the late innings with fatigue and lack of stuff. Coach Gufstafson(sp?) went out to the mound with the hook, when he reach the mound....Clemens basically said to him to 'get off MY mound' and he 'aint going no where'. Well, he finished the game striking out the final 9 batter to end the game. When the team went to congratulate him on the mound, he looked at the sky and basically told GOD, "dont you ever challenge me again!!!" ......WHAT AN A$$H***....!!!

just make sure he stays away from the Brewers...He sucked there too in the end.

Not with me. I know quite of few black people that I have an higher opinion of than some white people I know, but he is not one of them. It's his arrogance that's turns me off. It's kinda like "I deserve this because I am black."
