Does that black cloth cover the head of the idiot who ripped up the dish?

On another note...
Ya know, those dishes were generally installed on a nice little non-penetrating roof mount.
You might look around and salvage that part, at least.

ah yes the crapped out dish

Yes the crapped out dish. Though it does look like somebody tore it apart. But there is a few shares of broken dishes around this town. I'm talking trashed. Not because they was hacked. But because they are trashed. Dented from over the years. Panels missing, etc, etc. THe cool part about it. Most dishes you guys drool over. I can normally find. Idaho for some reason has older stuff not used. So anybody else in idaho know what I'm talking about. Go out far enough out of town. You will see dishes all over the places and even in older neighborhoods. I scored mine and it is now disassembled and waiting for me to get a place. Though I told my Girlfriend to find a place with a dish already in the yard. I'm lazy. LOL

TTFN,

Josh

Storm damage? or house demolition?
Too bad.

Actually I don't know. Right behind it is a gas station, closed but not demolished. I guess they took it off the roof and then someone smashed it. It definitely wasn't cut. It was smashed in two.

The black cloth was a nasty assed hoodie. LOL :D

No mount. I checked. ;)

I have been thinking about seriously finding out what company does the installs for the credit card systems around here, I bet they have tons of old dishes just waiting on me...LOL...or can tell me where to get them...

Argh... Sigh. Saw plenty of that after Katrina, the poor molded dishes were no match for her. Possibly this dish was also a victim of the storm, and has just been sitting around since...

Too bad no mount. I was getting ready to plan a trip across the Lake to see your Paraclipse and Birdview... again :D

If you have some ideas on how to get this birdview aimed, I'll buy the steaks and tasty beverages of your choice....LOL

I think it's your location, perhaps if you bring it up to North Dakota it will work better in MY yard. :)

You might be right, but if I loaded it up to bring it to you, I'd have a crazed country boy in Arkansas, standing out in the middle of the interstate with a shotgun waiting on me...Brother Gabshere is wanting a Birdview quite badly....LOL

THEN if I made it past there, I'd eventually get to MISSOURI, and you know THERE sits the Birdview Reclamation and Renewal Facility...so I don't think it'd ever make it to you....;)

I am always saddened when I find a good dish that has been destroyed for any reason.

I have found several dishes in my hunting experiences that wind, storms, falling trees/limbs, and humans have wreaked havoc on them.

Just have to find the good ones while we can and get them to safety. :)

Life is all about compromises, if you get it to 99.99999% is going the last little bit worth the effort?

well in this case that would mean limited Ku band. I can't lock all Ku transponders on a particular satellite (any one) at similar strengths. I can lock them on my 1m dish and take note of their qualities, and they are different on the Birdview. So I have a problem somewhere.

But, i still HAVE the other 1m dish, motor, and pole, in about three days I could have it back up....LOL...I just hate to leave the Birdview c-band only when it does such a stellar job with it.

That being the case, I wouldn't advise you to drive up 55N toward Memphis either...
:D:D:D

I guess I should be putting this in your BV thread, but are you sure the Ku LNB you have is OK? It sure sounds like a feed problem with everything else you've been through... maybe dirty/bent probes or something? Have you tried that feed on another dish?

naa the feed is brand new...its fine...I just have a feed/aiming problem...its not my main dish so I have time...I'll work it...sometime...LOL

Does it get C-band and not Ku or just nothing at all? I remember you told me you were going to use the SatAV CKU LNBF. Is it fitting nicely on the Birdview?
