HR44 with C61k Genie Mini for 4K

Just got a new 4K TV. Can I use it with my HR44?

What does the HR54 do for me that the HR44 does not ?

I had an HR34 but it was driving me nuts to the point I had to swap it last week for an HR44.

Then 2 days ago we finally get HR54's

Hate to burn a perfectly good HR44 and send it back to Directv

Neither one will give you 4K to your TV. If your tv has built in RVU you can use that or you can use a C61K which is basically an external RVU box.

You will want the HR 54 for the upcoming 4K content as it is the only one that can handle the reverse dbs and bonded 4K transponders. The 54 will then pass those signals to the RVU or C64K for display on your 4K tv.

Yes it will get the VOD stuff. But it won't get the live 4K channels when they launch next year.

And yes, it should. Based on the info I have an HR54 paired with an RVU client or C61K and a DSWM gen 2 LNB for rDBS can display 4K content once it is being broadcast.
