Question:

I have a DIRECTV AU9-S-SWM Five Dish running two HR24's. I'm thinking of buying the new Genie HR44 and one client. If I disconnect one of the connections going to my HR24, can I connect it to the Genie server or do I need a second dish?

Thanks in advance.

C.

Like dfergie said, your best solution is to get a swm16 switch. That's because a Genie requires a swm setup, which you don't have now. Since you are likely getting it through Directv, they will supply all of the necessary hardware for you at no additional cost.

Edit: You say you have a swm dish, but if there are two cables going to each dvr, then it's not a swm setup.

Massive DirecTV snow failure

Directv Genie Mini Client slower than actual Genie?
