HOPPER SNAP

The tech who did my ota install said that he has installed one SNAP so far. He said they are in short supply. I called Dish today and was told that they are not available to request yet. We’ll try again soon.

I don't have any statistics of course, but pre-H3, with only 3 tuners per Hopper and the ease of adding more Hoppers, I suspect there may be a lot more multiple Hopper accounts out there than we might think.
Regardless, it would seem the only reason single hopper users aren't able to get the Snap module is lack of availability.

I think you have a very good chance since you are the only H2000 customer in sight! ;)
In other words, I'm the only one crazy enough to have kept a working original Hopper when Dish upgraded with improved models.

I actually like my Hopper 1. I'm one of those if it's not broke, don't fix it people.

So it seems these Snap modules will continue to trickle out to a few lucky ones and the rest of us will have a very long wait.
To be fair, if these were released without beta testing, and something went wrong or they did absolutely nothing for performance improvement, then everyone would be forming a mob with pitchforks and toarches. That's why this is taking a while.

I think most people figured when Dish announced the release date all of that had been done already.

They didn't announce it to the public. They announced it at the summit. We would never know about it if Scott wasn't there and kind enough to inform us of Dish's plan to release it.
