HOPPER SNAP

Yep, it appears this fellow has a bunch of them:

Hopper Snap by Dish | eBay

From the description, I think he might have gotten them from distributor Dow Electronics:

Hopper Snap

Seems like a seller smart enough to know about these and have an inventory to sell would do well to add a disclaimer for those that have multiple Hoppers.

So, when is Dish going to start giving its paying customers the Snap? It does not make since to give it to new customers, but let paying customer of many years suffer with the old slow HWS.

DOW list the MSRP on their site at $5.

So go ahead and buy one from Dow. Oh, that's right, you can't because they don't sell to the public. And even if you could they would probably add $15 shipping and handling.

If anybody wants a Snap and can't wait for them to become available from Dish then they should probably buy one from EBay or Walmart.

Hmmm, both the eBay and Walmart sellers are located in Illinois. That suggests to me they may in fact be the same people.

I hate the idea of paying for something that Dish will eventually be giving me for free (supposedly), but on the other hand, it's beyond ridiculous that Dish won't just send these out to single-Hopper subscribers already. It's not like they don't KNOW what equipment everyone is using!

My HWS started having hard drive issues. Called tech support and they sent me a replacement. The replacement receiver had the Snap module taped to it. I didn't know what it was. Called tech support and they said it will improve the performance of the EPG among other things, which I can't remember what else it was. I plugged it in, hooked everything up. I really can't see a difference, but I unplugged it while the receiver was on and got and error message on my screen saying an important component had been disconnected which will cause some kind of issue.
I only have the one receiver, no Joey's.

Sent from my cheap phone using the SatelliteGuys app!

JSheridan, do you live in Illinois. Your posts sound like you are the guy selling the Snaps.

Nope, I'm not in Illinois or Iowa and I'm not selling Snaps. I just know that to stay in business you have to make at least a small profit. The Snaps are probably costing the seller $5 plus the shipping to be delivered to the seller. Then they have to pay for the packaging and shipping to the customer. Selling it for $20 won't leave them much of a profit at all.

Of course I'm sure you think that it all should be free to you but that's not how business works.
