I thought I did enough research, and even discussed with Dish. We wanted the Hopper system in our RV and didn't want to jerk equipment out of the house and reinstall, but also didn't necessarily want to pay on 2 accounts. Dish said if we purchased our equipment, we could do it on the pay as you go plan.

We bought the Traveler SK-1000, Hopper and 2 Joeys, and set up the account with Dish on an RV account two months before the weather broke enough to install it. Finally got it installed yesterday, called Dish to activate it, and they refused! The said they cannot activate a Hopper in an RV?? Did I just shoot myself in the foot!

I would have ordered a third hopper for the house and either had them install it in the spare room parked in the driveway or self installed in the RV. Since it sounds like you purchased the equipment, you should be able to install it in the RV yourself and have DIRT activate it either on the house account or the RV account, which ever works best for you.
i did have to go to the executive resolution dept and 3 different CSRs there before I found one who under steed what needed to be done.

That is certainly plan B - I would have to get permission for the 3rd hopper and that would make 10 Joeys for us, but I will just add them to the house account but leave them in the RV.

I agree with the "Contact DIRT" suggestions. I have a purchased Hopper and Joey, plus a purchased VIP211k, all on my PAYG RV account. DIRT rep Mike H was instrumental in getting the H&J registered and activated, after a phone CSR told me it couldn't be done except through a Dish dealer.
