My HR44/200 was updated in 10/13/15 to 0xa72. The DVR functions are acting very sluggish now. I did a hard-reboot, but no improvement.

Anyone else having the same issue?

i thought mine was (HR34) acting very sluggish this morning but now it's back to acting normal just slow like a (HR34)! i got a question on the update what if a click on the lifeshield button? what do it do ?

I received the new software about a week ago and its running slow for me too. A reboot didn't help. Menus are slow, starting playback is slow, skip is slightly slower.

Aren't we at the point yet that minor software updates shouldn't be this way. Back when I had an HR20 and HR22 I understood, and even with the HR34 as it was new technology, but we've been on this platform for well over 5 years. Frankly on products and interfaces this tenured this shouldn't happen.

If you do not subscribe to LS it is an advert and will direct you to purchase it. If you do have life's held it will allow you to arm/disarm and view camera from your tv.

I agree. Very sluggish.
Did a reset did no good. The reboot was even sluggish. Took 20 minutes!

I downloaded the CE release Friday night and also did the clearmybox reset just to hope for some improvement. Today the receiver is running normal again.

Definitely something clunky in the current national release. It was fine before, and it is fine with what they are testing now. We really should be beyond the days of these mistakes.

There is a documented bug in this national release regarding initial setup of the internal deca. I dont see this staying in the stream much longer, so hopefully they fix whatever is causing the sluggishness too.

Was initially slow following the recent download. Is much better today!

My bad! My HR 34 seemed better after I turned off native and scrolling effects. My HR34 Reciever is responding ridiculously slow today! Called DTV twice since the 28th for assist. They will not offer a HR44 or send a tech via my service plan. They say it is a national problem and they are working on it? If more people report this problem it may help speed up the fix

Yea I turned native off on all my clients and the HR34 and it made a huge difference, but I still want a 44 just for the fact that it should NOT be this way (I had a great setup before I upgraded to genie with 2 hr24's and a 21 (whole home) but I needed another room, so I got the genie. I should have just gotten another DVR!...........So may I ask, with clearmybox, is it simply a search like 30SLIP or SKIP? Next time you're on the phone with a CSR, tell them about the 30slip or skip - none of them know about it , nor do the installers (at least the ones I've talked to) since learning this from either this site or the other site years ago.

I have a question in addition to more information after I call I made to D* support. My reason for calling support in the first place was that we noticed that on the HR34, if you have recorded a "series" like Big Bang Theory and you have several episodes, you watch one on the DVR, and then when it's over, keep/delete pops up, so if you hit delete, suddenly you get this short countdown for on demand asking if you want to download the next episode, and the HR34 is so laggy, often you don't have time to stop it and before you know it, and episode you do NOT necessarily want is downloading.......and we don't want it from on demand because you can't forward through commercials anyway - so, when I called I asked if there was a way to disable this.......and there isn't......I then proceeded to tell the tech CSR (who was at a Denver call center and was really nice by the way), that I recently upgraded to genie and these weird problems I had been experiencing with it......I had told him everything I had tried, checking signal strength and changing settings, etc........he said it sounds like you've tried everything I was going to have you try already.....I told him I wish there were a way for be to get an HR44 but I know that it's incredibly difficult because they bring whatever they have in stock when installing......He then said he could put in a specific model request for an HR44 and that it may get approved and I would get an email probably today letting me know if it was.....He then said he would call back Friday to follow up.....so i'm hoping I end up with an HR44........He said he has one himself and even they are a little laggy, but he said NOTHING like what I described with my HR34.........so I guess we will see. Based on what I've read, I'm really amazed it was that easy......Then again, it may not get approved but if it does.....I guess I just got lucky..

Unless they have changed policy, they are not allowed to designate one over the other.
Personally I find this stupid, but I realize they have to get the 34 in the field as well seeing they are not going to just throw them out.

I ended up getting an hr44 approved and sent to me. Dear God the difference is amazing.....and what I mean by that is you couldn't ASK for it to be faster.....No lag at all, even on the wired clients.......It's so amazing that I called asking about the recovery kit and told the CSR how much faster it was, and they STILL respond there should be little to no difference between the 34/44......The difference is insane!
