It would be nice if they aired the original audio version (which I have on dvd) rather than the dubbed version, I agree.

If you can check which audio they used, that would be helpful, so I would know whether to look for it coming around again, thanks.

If the Guide does not have " (HD) " in the description field, then the movie is NOT in HD.

The Alien movies did not have " (HD) " in the description, and they were in upconverted 4x3.

HD Channels that are simulcast schedules of SD channels often just upconvert the output of the SD (4x3) channel, and so the result is worse than playing your own 16x9 DVD.

Given that the lists are getting pretty long (which is a good thing), I vote to leave off any movie not listed as " (HD) " unless they are originally 4x3 movies, which then look at their best on an upconverted-to-HD channel (example: "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes").

My wife likes watching movies and this last list has quite a few of her favorites for me to set up to record.

While setting up "The Full Monty" I noticed the one on the list for The Full Monty 11:45 pm 9/1, apparently is not in HD.

However, it is on tonight at 11:05 pm Pacific time or 2:05 am Eastern on 9/1 on StarzCHD.

I was rather perturbed that Alien and Aliens was 4:3 pillerboxed on EncoreHD this past weekend. I deleted them. However, I am looking forward to ST:Generations on MaxHD tomorrow and HDNet is showing The Color of Money tonight at 11pm ET. A decent sequel to The Hustler, if you've never seen it.

Paint your Wagon will most likely be a very bad 4:3 upconvert. It has been every time it has been shown in the past. I'll record it again just in case they've learned. My DVD upconvert actually looks 100x better.

For those interested. Cinemax finally did the right thing. "Paint Your Wagon" was not only HD, but OAR (2.35:1) I'm an extremely happy camper.
