I have yet to see anything on TDIS in HD. I would love to see some of the good toonmovies in HD. Everything I've tuned to is 4:3 upconvert. Pretty sad since it's your own stock.

both films are must-see for anyone who has not seen them

(Marked (HD) in the Guide, so they should be True-HD)

Grrrrr.... O Brother was not OAR - it was shown zoomed to 16x9.

I keep considering dropping Dish HD Platinum tier, but HDNet-Movies seems to be the only one who shows 2.35:1 movies in OAR.

The others are only good for movies that are 1.85:1 to begin with - mostly teen movies and the like.

- 1996 -- compared to 1991 ( 5 years younger) for Donington

No, it was full-frame, unfortunately. Definitely not OAR. Still, it didn't look hideous (like the Abyss did) and actually looked pretty good.

No doubt about Open Range. The rain/thunderstorms show off a home theater system very well and the "around the town" gunfight scene...well, that just sounds amazing!

I still have my original HDNMV recording from before they downrezzed that channel and it looks amazing as well as sounding fantastic.

Still...I want Master and Commander too...

I have recorded some shows and it has been and others not so much. Incredibles I have seen in both HD and not HD. There are some "good" movies coming next week on TDIS, I let you know what format they are in.
