I asked this question before, and it got moved, but i really just was wondering if there is a simple fix for this because i can't seem to find one. I want my receiver to run in mode 1, its the 722VIP and i want to put the receiver in my back room and be able to control the HDMI off of the RF remote. WHen i check on the receiver it says i need to have it on channel 2, and i do that, but i cannot get the RF remote to work no matter what. is there something im missing besides changing the mode and trying the two different bands inside the remote itself?

722 modes

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say mode 1. The switch inside the uhf remote is frequency band setting A or B. You should leave it on A Band. Let me make sure that I understand the question. You want to be able to put your 722 in a room away from you HDTV, right? If that's the case, then you need to contact DISH and get a TV1 UHF Pro key and 6.3 remote. The receiver can be set up thru the menu to accept TV1 UHF commands if the correct "key" is present.

If you want the UHF TV2 remote to control TV1 functionality on the 722, you have to slide out the blue chip and move the dipswitch concealed by the blue chip to its center position. Then press sys info on front of the box and press record on the remote. You should see it confirm UHF/IR for TV1 location. If not, slide the dipswitch over to another position until you find the one that works.

Now, when you slide that chip back in, it will move the dipswitch back. So, either leave it out, or shave the chip until you can slide it back in without moving the dipswitch.

Nice article about the 722

L613 software update still needed...
