DISH Hopper coming at CES ?

As an installer I'm interested in the nuts and bolts of the system.
can you post or describe the install wiring diagram.
We (the company I install for) do a lot of "custom" installs
a few of them need multiple dishes (due to los issues ) so will it feed from a 4x4 switch or other Unconventional setups like a 1000+
will it allow for diplexers?
is it sling link compatible?
whats the max length of any cable run?
I think I read that the remotes are all UHF but don't remember seeing a remote antenna hook-up on the joey I saw pictured
Just what are the pros and cons of this system from an installers point of view?

Edit
There is not a remote antenna (f connector) on the baby rue I just looked
is it internal? this could suck on some installs for example like when we install the receiver in a remotely located place like the basement with a long HDMI cable pre-ran to the wall hung master bedroom tv.
Also I know from experience that some plasma TV's and cheep DVD players will interfere with the remote, usually solved by moving (extending) the remote antenna

While it is technichally possible to add more then two hoppers I am not sure what DISH's policy will be on the number of tuners.
Seems like it would be a great advanced MDU solution for (especially high-rent) hotels, resorts and condos. Would require privacy features though to keep all the little Joeys' recordings separate.

Here's a link to what was shown at team summit earlier this. It might give you an idea. Not sure if everything is the same now. http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/254534-scotts-team-summit-photo-dump.html

Hate to sound negative, but I think it would be a miracle, if this Hopper is actually released to current and new subscribers by the end of 2012, looking at Dish's track record of promised goodies, Sling Extender, XiP receivers, ViP922 going mainstream.
you can't blame me for being skeptical, especially when they use the SOON word. - I wonder if any bookies in Vegas are willing to put odds this Hopper & Joey doesn't get released in 2012?.
But then again there is a HIGH demand for Dish to come up with a multi room/TV HD solution for subscribers, that doesn't involve outrageous extra monthly receiver fees.

Dish and no extra fees do not go together.

Dish is the home of extra fees for everything and you are told it is a bargain.

It would be nice if they gave you at least one Hopper, and one Joey for free. Then add $7 for each additional Joey. It would be even nicer if they didn't charge at all for the Joey's , but I doubt that would happen.

I doubt that the Hopper /Joey system will involve less additional receiver fees. I fully expect there to be at least a $7.00 fee for each Joey unit and a $10.00 dvr fee and possibly a multi-view fee . The question is will the mv fee and the dvr fee be combined into one $10.00 fee or separate. I don't see DISH giving up any extra revenue over their traditional receiver system.

If they follow the way AT&T set up U-Verse the main box will have one fee, and the "satellite" boxes will have their own fee.

The Hopper sounds real good, but I've invested too much time running RCA wires through the house to my analog tvs. I wouldn't know what to do with all those cables if I upgraded to this device. :D
These threads are so entertaining. My next business will be a in/out patient clinic to treat all of you TV junkies. There are many of you that need help. :D
I remember as a kid that if there was something I wanted to watch and my parents wanted to watch something else... usually that something else was what ended up on the TV, and I didn't exactly grow up in the stone age, we had a dish (the big one). Kids can already watch a zillion things with Netflix on their cell phones! for $8 a month. Apparently they need their own $400+ box DVR receiver.

====My Personal Study on Why Hopper won't work for most Families with Kids======
I think the metrics used didn't consider that in larger families, the concentration of 18-49 becomes relatively small. I don't think anyone under 17 watches very much Prime Time programming in an environment where other options are available.

DIRECTV, Charter, AT&T, Verizon, Cablevision, Comcast, Time Warner, et al. "and no extra fees" don't go together either. Let's be real, this industry is riddled with extra fees and nobody is better or worse about it.

So If I have three tv's using 1 hopper and 2 joeys, can 3 people be watching three seperate things at the same time on any channel? I guess the primetime thing is messing with me. Can I record three seperate things at the same time on any channel?

We now know you can add OTA. Now the question is will they let you lease TWO Hoppers together so you can have 6 Tuners.

In the past, Dish for the first year would not let you have Two, but You had to out right buy the 2nd box, say for $600

Anyone with 3 people living in the house (Two Parents and One Kids) will need more than 3 tuners IF You want to use the My Primetime feature.

Example: My Prime Time is recording. Mom wants to watch Life Time, Dada wants to watch ESPN AND use PIP, Kid wants to Watch Disney. You CANT DO IT because the 3rd Turner is busy recording My Time Time.

In this example using Picture and Picture you would need a total of 5 Tuners!!!

With a 2nd Hopper box you would have 6 tuners, you now can do PIP and Watch anything, AND have my Primetime so you can watch recorded shows later.

My Primetime and My HBO?

Surprised now one is excited about My HBO? We talked about my Primetime, but what about my HBO?

I am just guessing here, but it seems to me for this to work as they say in there press release they MUST also be recording a full Transponder of HBO channels late at night just like they are doing for My Prime Time.

What do you guys think? Are they doing this?

Press release
========
a new feature called DISH Unplugged will make hundreds of HBO movies and TV shows available via satellite to the DISH DVR. Customers who subscribe to HBO will have instant access to HBO programming through their receiver in the highest video quality and with no buffering.

Yes, 3 tuners = 3 live events simultaneously on 3 tv's with the following caveat ...

If during network primetime (ABC, NBC, CBS, & FOX), and IF "Primetime Anytime" is enabled, then you can only watch two other live events while recording the entire network primetime lineup using a single tuner.
