Look at 11:30, the Colbert Report.
Press info, then select "more info".
You will see First Aired: 7/16/2013 right at the top.
Go back to the guide.
Scroll over to 1:30 am.
You will see the same.

If you set this show to record, it will not record at 1:30.

Now look at Sportscenter on ESPN, ch 206. There is no date. Set it to record, look at "view upcoming" - you will see that EVERY Sportscenter on ch 206 will record. 11pm 12am, 1am, 2am, 5am, etc.

You just answered your own question. You cannot record the 1:30AM Colbert Report because THAT episode was first run at 11:30PM the day before. The 1:30AM episode is a repeat. EVERY Sportcenter episode records because they are each considered original first run episodes.

This depends on what air date they have listed for it, if it's changed to the current day or if they didn't bother to change it seeing it happens over night.

I guess if were not there, we wont know.
