Direct tv HD DVR Gennie 34 Series Manager Setup ?

This is something DirecTV needs to address. I never had this problem when recording to the Dish 622 or the 722. I was able to record CSN, Redskins Nation, without recording every episode. I can’t do that with DirecTV – everything records, even when set to, first run. With DirecTV there isn’t enough information for the system to categorize what is showing – the same information is displayed every day, so it assumes it's first run so it records everything. I have discussed this with the high tech team members at Direct and they are looking to address this issue. Whether they resolve it or not remains to be seen, but the person I spoke with seemed shocked that Dish had the technology and Direct didn’t.

D* gives you whole lot more show info than DISH does.

I think you said, you Record the shows mentioned and want to record a Single episode ?
But it keeps recording them all ?

If thats what your asking about, you have set the Record option for "Series", there is also a Record "Once" tab.

Were you actually looking for an answer to that question, or just making a statement ?

That was legit. You always hear "X-hours of HD space" which has always led me to believe it didn't matter, but I never really thought about it until... This.

If you are gonna ask (which by no means guarantees which model you will get), might as well ask for the 44.

Isn't that what you wanted? For it to say "new" for new episodes? The online guide shows the "new" indicator. See picture above.

As i said before, if you are going to ask, ask for the 44. It is the newer model, and is better.

However, there is no guarantee that you will get what you ask for. If they replace it, all they will most likely tell you is that you will get a genie, which could be either of the two models.

If they come out and find that it needs replacing yes, you will get a 34 or 44. They are both genies. The 44 is newer, faster, smaller, and has built in wifi.
