That would be cool but can't see Dish undercutting their own On Demand library with this feature. Even if there really is no comparison in terms of quality between Netflix and Dish On Demand.

merged threads together since it involves the same thing (the OP wanting every app out there on the Hopper)

Some of the best new original shows on tv are on Netflix. I love "Orange is the New Black" and my parents love "House of Cards". There is also "Arrested Development" with new episodes. These type of shows are the future of tv. Not to mention all the tv shows and foreign films and indie films from all over the world. My parents watch my account at home and my kid loves it in his room. He watches many of the kid shows he loves on Netflix . He rarely watches the Joey in his room hooked into my old google revue unit in his room. Besides at $8.65 a month with tax included , you simply can't go wrong with all the entertainment options in this one application.

do you think that dish will add alot more apps this year to the hopper and which ones do you guess?

Allen

bluegras, they're having some issues with the apps already included. I wouldn't expect a whole influx of new ones at all. Just because you now have a Hopper doesn't mean that all the channels will be in HD or it will have an iTunes Apps catalog....

I want an app to clean the kitchen floor, wash clothes and fix supper. OK, a Roomba/Scooba remote control and AllRecipes apps. Outta luck on the clothes, I guess.

Actually, I can see some value in having the single box "do it all." A way to switch a HWS to "Roku mode" and back (remember the 80286?) would be of some value.

But then, I already have that with my Harmony remote. Just switch via the Activity button between Dish and Roku.

Yes, apps do add a nice touch to the Hopper, but my thoughts are I would not want to have it have a overload of apps on the Hopper

Holy cow. Ton of stuff on Netflix not in Dish. Many reasons and 8 bucks a month.

I already have a free Roku courtesy of Dish. Netflisx is available there but I don't see great value add unless I drop Dish. My bill will be over $100/mo with the upcoming increase.
