Chinese students 'forced' to work on iPhone 5 sent back to school

Are things any different over at Pegatron that makes many MIcrosoft products?

Also if you read the article it says it is a component factory, not an iphone factory. It is unknown the destination of the components being manufactured. They could be Apple's or some other company.

Man shop class has sure evolved since I was in school. :)

Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys

and I doubt they had old "stumpy" as a teacher :D
(true story.. shop teacher in high school we called stumpy......now it could be the fact he was 5 foot 1.....or the fact he had 2 missing fingers )

Foxconn has become more and more an embarrassment to Apple. With all the leaked pictures of cases and components for the "iPhone 5", I would question the professionalism of any supplier who allowed my trade secrets to be handled in such cavalier manner.

Apple could take ten or twenty billion of their cash reserves and plow them into an American location to create a manufacturing campus for their products.

The phones certainly could be made in the US but labor costs would be higher and I suspect Apple just does not want to pay for that.

We did too! He was missing his thumb and pointer finger. It made us really listen to him about shop safety. :D

I recall when most silicon foundries moved overseas, besides costs it was a matter of higher yields overseas.
