BUSTED! Deflategate: Pats deliberately did it!

I honestly do not think he is being punished for success as you would suggest. Personally, I think because the perception on the Patriots is due to spygate, the offensive-line gate... "once a cheater, always a cheater". The Steelers and the 49ers are just as, if not more successful as the Pats. Using the logic you just presented, I don't remember the league going after them for their success.
Unless you count goodell going after the Steelers any time they had a hit that may or may not have been clean. It was always illegal in goodell's mind, whether it was or not, he made BILLIONS off of fictitious fines from them in a course of 2-3 years.

Neither of those teams have had the same success the Pats have had in Goodell's tenure or in the social instant access media age.

"Offensive-line gate", I guess we should ban all trick plays than, I mean a fake punt is deception. Wha Wha Wha. :crying:crying:crying

Perception? What is Goodell a freaking precog now and is going to punish because of it.

I'm not going to comment on Spy-gate again because 98% John Q Public is ignorrant to the actual facts and so much of it has become non-truthful folklore. But here's some light reading about it. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...pygate-punishing-success-and-promoting-parity
The offensive line thing where they came out in bizzare formations ... I never understood how that was legal in the first place, you always have to have so many players on the line of scrimmage and there are rules regarding that.

Moving linemen out to catch a ball or wr's into the line is just dumb in some regards ... if thats what happened, I never really did see the play closely enough.
If they had enough on the line and not too many in the back field then nothing should have been wrong, however they do have numbers assigned to certain positions ...

It sounds like major confusion.

Just telling you why I think this is happening. But I guess when your team under the microscope...

Back in 2006 the two prima-donna quarterbacks in the NFL, Manning and Brady, lobbied the league to allow each offense to prepare it's own balls and the NFL changed the rule for them. Up until then the home team prepared all the balls. Now it's come back to bite one of them in the butt. Let's have a pity party. Can you imagine any other pro league changing the balls to appease one or two players? LeBron would like a softer ball. OK, lets change it. Zack Greinke would like a softer ball. OK, lets change it. Federer would like his people to prepare the tennis balls only he uses. OK, lets change the rules. Nope, ain't gonna happen. But the two biggest whinners in the NFL managed to get the rules changed and now we all see why at least one of them wanted it changed and just how stupid an idea that was. I have no sympathy for Tom Brady. He not only dug the hole he's in, he bought the shovel long before the hole was ever dug.

New evidence states he told his assistant to get rid of a phone with more than 10,000 text messages, what did he have to hide if he was innocent?

He was suspended because he didn't cooperate and more likely than not knew about it. I don't see how you can objectively defend it.

Because I take nothing the league puts out there at face value.

1st it was Mort's report from a league source that 11 of the 12 footballs were more than 2lbs under. That was a lie.

Than it was the Wells report itself that that was debunked over and over again, most notably by the AEI think tank.

It was Brady's own lawyer who told them he destroyed they phone, after the original suspension I might add, so they didn't think it was a big deal.

Why didn't Goodell turn over his personal cell phone for the Mueller report? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

And if God almighty Roger is so sure about this why are balls be tested for air pressure drops during this season?

Goodell is 0 for 3 in federal court for a reason.
