Ok here are some numbers for you, last night at this time the old server load was 4.37 and that was with 250 people online. And at this moment on the new server we also have 250 people on and the server load is 0.56 (Thanks without MySQL being tweeked!)

So far I am very happy.

I just noticed a problem, the server did not have GD installed, so I am installing it now. If you see anything strange or slow in the next 3 minutes its ok, just me working.

Ok GD now is working. I am happy now, GD is required to create the picture thumbnailsm it also generates images for our new user verification system.

Ok now its time for bed.

BTW Mail is working nicely off the new server as well. I am happy!

Ok just got our backup working.

On the old server the backup was done to a seperate hard drive, which was mounted for the backup then unmounted after the backup was done.

Also on the old back I would actually download everything twice a week to my own computer for safe keeping.

On the new server we have a remote backup storage. This way when the backup is run each night the backup is stored on a remote server, that server is also backed up by the backup company.

Still lots to do but I am working as hard as I can.

Anyone having any problems accessing the site? I had one user tell me he could not access the site, when I gave him the IP address of the site he said he could get to it but it was very slow.

From here the speed is very good, page is loading instantly.
