Any updates on 942 software fixes?

Scott, it's been since November 13 if memory serves that Dish said that they recognize the problems with the right-side pixelating and audio-sync problems. Is their any scuttle-butt on where things are now? My 942 has never acted up more than it has now, what with the audio-sync issue that I never had before, and the overall terrible pixelation problems on both live and recorded programming, SD and HD. I've been told 3 times that an engineer would call within 48 hours, never to get a call. My last phone call to an admitted "Advanced Tech Rep" that deals specifically with the 942 said that she's "never heard of any pixelation problems along the right side of the screen on the 942--that's news to me".

Are they anywhere close to getting a fix? I came back from an 8-day vacation and before I even turned up the heat I ran to my TV and checked the software version, only to be disappointed by the L2.82 that mocked me from the screen. Please help before I go crazy.

There is a beta which testers have now which corrects the pixelation problem on the right hand of the screen. I am told that the fix works.

No word of when that fix will hit the street.

Its kind of funny, I posted this yesterday at 1:44 and then at 3:27pm the same exact information appears at another forum acting like they broke some major news. :D

Guess where they get their news from folks. :D

An update to this, someone posted this question at another site...

Do you feel this will also cover the pixilization in general on the higher compressed channeld like Foxsports and Speed?

To which their staff member replied "I would feel so."

Unfortunately the correct answer is NO it wont fix the over compression issues seen on some of the sports channels. It would be kind of neat if they made software which fixed issues of over compression. :)

I have seen the new beta software and they have done a great job fixing the pixelation problem some are seeing on the right hand of the screen. But again unless Dish changes the compression on the sports channel new software will not make it look better.

And there you have it :D

Scott -
I didn't see the other post so I don't know if it had any more information, but I wonder if that poster was talking about the fact that the right side pixelation shows up quite a bit more (sometimes going all the way across the screen) on sports programs that pan to the left and right. My understanding is that the new software fixes that issue. Without more information I'm not sure if that is what the poster was talking about, but it is just a guess.

I think he meant it helped with the breaking up of fast action scenes, not to do with compression.
