Any one not getting the Weigel channels?

Showing as biss encryption. Enjoyed my dose of Pappy and the sheep. And Kirk and Spock going around Uranus wiping out Klingons

I always recorded that one for the wife. Wonder if there is a box set of Blacksheep? Friendly lists H&I but don't show Blacksheep or 12 oclock high. I sent an email to inquire why they are picking and choosing what they want to show on that network but I doubt I'll ever get a reply back. Ultimately I guess the choice is theirs regardless. Other than that and poor picture quality which possibly could be my Roku device it's not too bad for the price :) Not too many alternatives on the Weigel channels really since they don't have an app for streaming on their own

Frndly isn't the one doing that. Weigel has a separate feed of H&I for streaming providers like Frndly, Sling, Philo and DTV Stream because they don't have the streaming rights to everything they air. The streaming feed of MeTV also has some replacement programs.

Hi all,

I don’t understand why these providers encrypt at all. We are such a small group of enthusiasts…getting smaller as time goes on. Is it really worth their effort and money to encrypt ?
They’re not losing money letting us watch Biss free. I’m sure some of us even take advantage of the ads they air.
So now by encrypting, they lost more viewership as small as it may be.

Lyngesat shows them using BISS. Shame. But I've seen the Star Trek episodes a lot. I'm considering getting them on Bluray though and maybe B5. There is quite a bit of streaming available, both paid subs and non-paid commercial supported streams. I hate paying for subs though - especially those with commercials.

Me either and especially for locations like mine that is shielded by terrain in all directions preventing OTA from happening. One would think that the more readily the programming is to access the better their sponsors would like it. I know it's left me with just PBS I can watch now:) There are several stations carrying most of these channels fairly close to here but according to the plots I ran I'd need a tower of 200 feet or more to touch them. If I had internet at my radio site above me I can get 28 channels there no sweat that would be the answer but it's just far enough off the beaten path to get anything.

I had already been "encrypted" by 5G anyway so they were virtually unwatchable anyhow.I get Metv OTA but the recording device for that is usually busy with other things,I don't watch anything"live" anymore.

I can get METV OTA but I need to put up a better antenna. Not sure if I'll get it done before it gets colder. I'd rather have H&I instead.

Since the loss of the Weigel mux, especially H&I, which I watched 'Star Trek' before they encypt the other day but fortunately I have "Star Trek: TOS" on a purchased box set years ago, so that I watch it without those pesky commercials and cut out scenes on H&I. Now, I am no longer watch H&I and MeTV on my local stations since it is a waste of time. I do not stream TV at all, this is my two cents worth on thoughts on Weigel mux.

Streaming is almost more trouble than it's worth given the quality LOL

Thanks !! I'm putting in request Monday LOL Now just gotta find Combat and 12 OClock high :)
Combat!

Those were two of my fathers favorite TV programs. "Rat Patrol" was another one. Combat! is available at the link above. 12 O'clock high is tougher to find. I know they are out there because I had the series on VHS many moons ago.

I guess I should have waited a few more weeks the solve my 5G interference and not bothered. At least I know it's possible to address the 5G issue if that helps others in their decision making. I just waited to long to fix my 36 year old dish. Thinking that there are so few working C band dishes even around anymore that this is winding down.

Thankfully, I get the Weigel channels locally except for MeTV Toons and Dabl.

Looking back over the years, nothing beat the Equity RTN affiliate feeds on C and Ku band, Good Life TV, American Life TV on 4DTV and FETV channels in the past while we had them. Plenty of hours of entertainment of which I enjoyed. I remember that Equity Broadcasting, before Luken took over in 2009 liked the fact that the FTA enthusiasts were watching. The host on the Unreliable Sources call in program used to ask how you were watching.

Well crumb bugs. I've been so busy lately, i hadn't noticed until today! My 12' is dedicated to 101w. There is no longer anything on 101w FTA worth watching unless there is something im unaware of. Well, unfortunately, the dish is stuck at 101w until spring as I'm not gonna move the dish during the winter. With the news that the Alaskan Mux is going bye bye at the end of March 2025, that will kill the couple FTA channels there. And then with the loss of DW english a few months back, this has been the worst FTA loss for me for YEARS!

I really NEVER thought they would encrypt the Weigel channels. With them being digi-nets, i didn't see any reason as to why they would encrypt?!?!!? :wtf
