With the Invacom and Extreme LNBF's being out for some time now, are there any new contenders for the high performance LNBF's? What do you recomend as THE high performance LNBF and is it a standard or universal?

I started out with an Invacom SNH-031 after reading a review in our Equipment Review department.
The most recent LNB tested is a Techsat Tracker II.
It performed well, but I'm not planning on buying shares in the company.
I've tried some cheap LNBs, and they worked okay.
The current wisdom seems to be to get Standard unless you need Universal.
I've found Universals cheap, and those are what I've experimented with.
Also, single output LNBs are cheaper, but if you need two outputs, that sort of narrows the field.
About the only readily available Invacom with two outputs is the QPH-031.
It's got two linear and two circular, and is Standard.
I don't find the circular all that useful, and don't care for the weight, nor price, but I'm sure I'll eventually have one in my collection.
From what I've read, a one meter Primestar dish performs quite well with most anything on it.
Guys with the little dishes or really bad locations, probably benefit more from the hot LNBs.
Oh, if you have to shoot through really bad weather, that's a consideration, too.
I live in a desert, and just don't have weather-related issues.
That may be why I'm a bit more casual than some folks in northern Canada or the far south like rainy Florida.

I have had good luck with SatelliteAv's dual feed LNBs if that is what you need. I have had bad luck with the last two extreme II's that I have bought. So I look for a quality build more then the hottest unit I can find.
