AL EAST 2009

When the Red Sox wear their alternate jerseys against the Yanks (tonight, they were the alternate red uniform, one of my favorite altername unis), good things happen.

(IIRC, didn't they wear green jerseys against the Yanks a few years back when they hit four straight homers)

The man that replaced Manny in the field ties it with a 2 run homer, and the man that took Manny's spot in the order wins it! How appropriate!

I think you're correct.

BTW, like yourself I don't mind the Sox alternate home uniforms, but I despise the new alternate road uniforms (blue tops) that they debuted against the Angels a couple of weeks ago. I also hate the Sox new alternate caps (the hanging socks).

They'll be wearing their alternate jerseys and caps on Friday nights this season.

What, they schedule the uni colors ?

They don;t just pick up whichever ones are clean that day ? :D

Jimbo

LOL!! Yeah, it's something new this year.

On Friday's at home they wear the red jerseys, and Friday's on the road they wear the blue jerseys. They will wear the hanging socks cap on Fridays home and away.

The Yankees placed 3B Cody Ransom on the DL with a quadriceps injury after last night’s game.

Angel Berroa will play 3B and bat 8th for the NYY this afternoon.

Btw, for a little motivation from last night's crushing loss, the Yankees were playing this song in the clubhouse.

And Ellsbury, perhaps the most over-rated phenom in baseball, doesn't even have enough of a throwing arm to stop the runner on first from going to second on a flyball to center.

Decoy, shmeekoy! A better centerfielder would have caught that drive to center.

Red Sox win 16-11 after trailing 6-0.

It's official: the Yankees bullpen is a mess!

BoSox now with 9 straight wins.

Mike Lowell is red hot, including his 6 RBI game yesterday. Plus he's made two outstanding plays at third this weekend.

That being said, I'm concerned about him long term. He seems to be favoring his surgically repaired hip more now then three weeks ago.

Red Sox nice problem to have.................

Justin Masterson is starting his second game tonight in place of Dice-K. If Masterson has another strong outing what does Francona do?

Both Dice-K and John Smoltz threw off the mound yesterday. The bullpen is loaded even without Masterson out there (although I like having Justin's versatility out there).

Daniel Bard is tearing up AAA with his 100 mph fastball. During the Fox broadcast yesterday, Tim McCarver was saying that from talking to scouts that Bard is going to be special. Also, wither Clay (no-hitter) Buchholz? He's ready to take a permanent spot in the Big Leagues.

The Red Sox have at least 16 pitchers that are major league ready RIGHT NOW! IMO, they will use some of this surplus in July (not Daniel Bard!!!!) to acquire a big bat.
